State Funding for MOHS

Check if your state offers a program that can help you cover the cost of MOHS tuition, fees, workbooks, or even a computer.

If you live in a state with a school choice program, knowing which programs you qualify for can greatly impact your student’s education. That’s why we’ve created this guide to all the programs MOHS qualifies for, so it’s even easier to provide your child with an amazing education.

Arizona

  • Available for K-12; Pre-K may be eligible if the student has a disability
  • Average award amounts are between $7,000-$9,000; children with disabilities may qualify for more
  • Student and legal guardian must be residents of AZ
  • Student cannot be enrolled in public school

Arkansas

  • Available for 1st-12th grade and kindergarten students attending private school
  • Awards a maximum of $7,208 per student
  • Must be a resident of Arkansas
  • Student must be eligible to enter a public school in Arkansas
  • Additional criteria available on official site

Colorado

  • Available for grades K-12
  • Awards up to $1,200 for homeschool students
  • Must reside in El Paso, Teller, or Pueblo County
  • Must meet financial requirements and provide federal tax documents

Maine

  • Available for K-12
  • Awards $500 for homeschool scholarship
  • Must be a Maine resident
  • Application deadline is April 30
  • Scholarships awarded at random

Montana

This program is temporarily paused while the courts review a legal challenge.

  • Available for students who are at least five years old, but no older than 19 by September 10
  • Awards between $5,000-$8,000 per family
  • Must have an IEP
  • Must meet additional requirements (linked below)

New Hampshire

  • Available for students between five and 20 years old entering K-12th grade
  • Awards approximately $4,000
  • Parent and student must be residents of New Hampshire
  • Household income must be at least 350% below federal poverty line
  • Must complete and sign application and academic accountability documents

New York

  • Available for grades K-8
  • Must be a resident of NYC
  • Awards $1,000 per homeschooled child

Texas

Applications are open February 4 – March 12, 2026!

  • Available for PreK-12
  • Must be a Texas resident
  • Awards up to $2,000 per year for homeschoolers
  • Student must be eligible to attend a Texas school district, open-enrollment charter school, or Pre-K program

The payment schedule will be:

  1. First Payment (25% of Approved Funding) – July 1, 2026
  2. Second Payment (50% of Approved Funding) – October 1, 2026
  3. Third Payment (Remaining Funding) – April 1, 2027

Utah

  • The homeschool award is available for students ages K-12 with a documented disability, as defined by by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
  • Must be a Utah resident
  • Student must not be currently enrolled in a public school or charter school
  • Award amounts is $8,000 for homeschooled students

Important Note: Students may only participate in one scholarship program at a time. Students who receive the Carson Smith Opportunity Scholarship or Utah Fits All are not eligible to participate in another scholarship program during the same school year.

West Virginia

If you are a recipient of the West Virginia Hope scholarship, you can use your funding to purchase our MiaPrep Workbooks in addition to our curriculum!

  • Available for K-12
  • Student must be eligible to enroll in a West Virginia public school to qualify
  • Awards $5,435.62 for the 2026-27 school year
